England: The Making of Harry Potter Studios

It has always been on my bucket list to visit the Harry Potter studio in England. Harry Potter is a part of my childhood and I literally grew up with the series. So during my travels in England, I made sure that we will be going. I am ready to be transported to the world of magic!

The studio is located in Leavesden. It's about 30kms outside of London City Center. We booked our The Making Of Harry Potter Studio Tour at Viator which provided transportation to and from London and studio tickets. I hear tickets sell out fast, so better book in advance!

Upon entering the magical world of Harry Potter, photographs of the characters will greet you. The infamous Weasley family flying car is hanging by there as well. Take note that this is not a theme park unlike the ones in Universal Studios. This is tour of the actual sets used in the films itself.

They kept the studio a "hot set" meaning the lighting is perfect for filming. The studio maintained major sets, costumes and props. You will see the Diagon Alley, Dumbledore's office, the Gryffindor dormitory and more! They showcased original costumes of the trio - Harry, Hermoine and Ron. Even the notable casual clothing they wore in the Prisoner of Azkaban. Of course, he who must not be named returns and is present there as well. Among other character costumes available were Hagrid's, Dumbledore's, as well as our dear Snape's. As seen in the photo above, that is the scale model of the real Hogwarts. They shot screenshots of the school using this model.

The film industry is really a work of art. Having been able to see the actual sets and comparing it to the film was just unbelievable. I am happy that I was able to visit and imagine myself in the wizarding world. It was a feast for the eyes, something Potter fans should visit once in their life. It's absolutely a magical experience! We ended our tour with a butterbeer. Cheers!!
